De iberis zijn kleine struiken die zich verspreiden in matten met donkergroen gebladerte en witte of paarse bloemen. Deze breedbladige groenblijvende planten kunnen worden gebruikt in rotstuinen, borders of als randen of bodembedekkende planten. Ze geven de beste groei in de volle zon en een matig rijke, vochtige grond. Een beschermde site wordt aanbevolen, omdat het gebladerte in de winter kan verbranden. Iberiërs leven niet lang in de schaduw of in natte grond. Schaar de planten na de bloei om ze compacter te laten groeien.

Voortplanting is door zaad, stekken van zacht hout en deling. De stekken van zachthout worden in de zomer genomen en de deling gebeurt in de herfst. Het zaad kiemt in 2 tot 3 weken op 65 tot 70 graden.
